We’re warming things up again across Eastern North Carolina today. After that chilly start, southwest winds are taking over and they’ll be noticeable gusts 20–25 mph inland and even stronger for the Outer Banks. Those winds pull in milder air, so plan on highs in the low 70s this afternoon.

Late tonight into early Thursday, a dry front slips through. It mainly turns our winds around to the northwest and knocks temperatures back into the 60s for Thursday. We recover to near 70 on Friday. Saturday afternoon turns pleasant again with mid 70s inland.

Sunday will be the warmest day in the stretch with highs in the mid to upper 70s. Enjoy it, because a much stronger Arctic front arrives late Sunday into early Monday. That front opens the door to our coldest air so far this season. Highs Monday
