JEFFERSONTOWN, Ky. —
UPDATE : Power has been restored.
------------------
There's a major power outage in Jeffersontown, Kentucky.
According the LG& outage map , there are more than 8,000 without power as of 1:15 p.m. Wednesday.
A post from the Jeffersontown Police Department said the major power failure is mostly along the Taylorsville Road corridor from Gene Snyder to S Hurstbourne Parkway.
"This is a busy and long stretch. Please allow extra travel time, be patients and stay alert at all intersections," the post reads.
They did not say what caused it.
We do know LG&E is currently supporting emergency responders following the deadly plane crash in Louisville and they've had to disrupt electric and natural gas service for some customers in the area for safety reasons.
