BISMARCK, ND (KXNET) — North Dakota State University may soon be on the hunt for a new president. Current President Dr. David Cook has been announced as one of two finalists for President of Iowa State University.

Cook, who was named NDSU President in 2022, is slated to visit ISU this week during a public forum on Thursday, November 5, and the Iowa Board of Regents will vote on a new president in a meeting on Tuesday, November 11.

Cook took the helm at NDSU less than a year after the university was named an R1 research institution. The R1 designation is issued by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching and recognizes the top research institutions in the country.
