The Columbia Police Department is looking for a suspect in connection to a reported armed robbery overnight, according to a news release.

An employee at a business in the 1600 block of Towne Drive told police that a man robbed the business around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, according to the release.

The employee told police that the suspect entered the business, placed a pink drawstring bag on the counter and demanded money, according to the release. Police said the suspect displayed the handle of a pistol in his waistband to the employee and then jumped over the counter. After collecting money, the suspect fled the business, according to the news release.

Police said the suspect is not in custody.
