VANDERBURGH COUNTY, Ind. (WEVV) — The Vanderburgh County Sheriff's Office is offering a way to alleviate concerns for those leaving their homes unattended during trips.
Sheriff Noah Robinson is encouraging residents to reach out for support.
"The Sheriff's Office has had a home security program for decades now so we've continued it and molded it in with our neighborhood-based policing initiative," Robinson said.
Residents can request extra patrols on their homes when they are away, especially during holidays or trips.
"The residents who live in the county can call and request an extra patrol on their home. This is useful for someone who might be leaving town for the holidays or taking a trip. The deputy will go by and check on their residence periodically to make sure everything is sec
