JOHNSONVILLE, S.C. (WBTW) — While the shutdown continues to impact things like SNAP food benefits, one woman in the Pee Dee is doing what she can to make a difference.
Barbara Black -- a two-time Nexstar Remarkable Women nominee -- has been providing food from her Lydia's Nest pantry to people all over Johnsonville as need mounts.
Within 45 minutes of opening Wednesday, more than 100 people had already been served -- with some waiting in line for up to four hours.
Black said she launched the community resources center as a way not only to help those in her own town, but from all over.
