The Coos County delegation in the New Hampshire House remained all Republican after former state Rep. Marc Tremblay edged former Democratic Rep. and retired School Superintendent Corinne Cascadden by 14 votes in a special election Tuesday.

Democratic Party officials confirmed that Cascadden will file for a recount of the race to replace Republican Brian Valerino, who stepped down after Gov. Kelly Ayotte nominated and the Executive Council confirmed him as the new warden of the medium-security prison in the city.

Tremblay had 878 votes to 864 for Cascadden.

“Coos County is sending a champion to Concord to stand up for law and order, low taxes, and the New Hampshire Advantage!” the Committee to Elect House Republicans said in a statement.
