MACON, Ga. — A historic Central Georgia site is going to be demolished soon.

The Tubman African American Museum, in partnership with Macon-Bibb County, announced they are planning to demolish the museum’s original location at 340 Walnut Street, according to a press release from the museum. The demolition is scheduled for Nov. 6 at 9:00 a.m.

The Walnut Street location has been vacant since 2015, when the museum relocated to its current home at 310 Cherry Street.
