MANCHESTER, N.H. —

Alleged victims who say they were abused as children while in state custody are expressing frustration and disappointment with New Hampshire's compensation process.

New data shows that more than 2,200 people have filed claims to be part of the Youth Development Center settlement fund, including Chuck Miles.

The settlement fund was created to avoid sending thousands of cases through the courts while providing compensation to victims of alleged abuse at state-run facilities, including the YDC in Manchester.

Currently, there is no administrator overseeing the fund, leaving Miles and other claimants waiting to learn who will decide their fate.

"I'm held accountable in society. If I do something, this state should be held accountable," Miles said.
