AUBURN, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) -- An officer with the Auburn Police Department, a deputy with the Cayuga County Sheriff's Office, and a nearby neighbor worked together to pull a man out of a window in his burning home.

On Nov. 5, around 4:01 p.m., Officer P Flickner was on a routine patrol, when he saw a structure-fire complaint generated on his in-car computer at 39 Perry St. He immediately responded from a few blocks away and arrived within two minutes of the call.

Upon arrival, he saw flames coming from the back of the house, as well as heavy black smoke coming from the front door and windows.

A neighbor told Flickner that he had opened the front door and let the dogs run out of the house, but did not know if the resident was still inside.

Flickner then went to the front entrance, announced
