AUBURN, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) -- The show must go on! After being on, then off, and now on again, the Auburn Holiday Parade is here to stay.

City officials had announced on Nov. 5 that the new Downtown Holiday Tree Lighting event at State Street Event Plaza would replace the Holiday Parade.

But just a day later, Auburn officials announced that the Holiday Parade was back on.

The move comes after many residents expressed their disappointment that the parade was cancelled.

The City of Auburn Police Department Union President even voiced his concerns and discontent with the decision on Facebook.

"I will personally make sure this happens. Because the holiday spirit in Auburn isn’t something that can be canceled. It lives in our people, our families, and our community — and as long as we’re here,
