Anderson County voters rejected a referendum that would create a penny sales tax for infrastructure improvements. Now, County leaders are asking, 'What's next?' to help county roads.
District One County Councilman Chris Sullivan says the goal of Anderson County's proposed 1% sales tax referendum was to help roads throughout the county.
"We got to address the roads. It's really expensive. What are our options? And sales tax kind of gave us an option of sharing that burden with visitors to Anderson County," he says, "This whole road system in South Carolina is kind of a mess.
