HOLLY SPRINGS, Miss. - The general manager of the Holly Springs Utility Department submitted his resignation, according to Holly Springs Mayor Charles Terry.
Terry told FOX13 he received Holly Springs Utility Department General Manager Wayne Jones' resignation on Tuesday night. He did not comment further on Jones' decision to resign.
The utility department has been under scrutiny for some time. In September, Mississippi regulators voted to fine the department $12,500 a day for "(failing to render reasonably adequate service to its customers."
