MEMPHIS, Tenn. - As the longest government shutdown in history continues, funding for multiple federal programs has been in jeopardy.

As FOX13 has reported, millions of SNAP recipients will receive half of their normal allowance later than expected.

However, the Memphis Housing Authority had good news Wednesday morning for families who rely on Section 8 vouchers. "HUD announced that all government-supported housing is funded through the end of 2025," wrote an MHA spokeswoman in a statement to FOX13.

Through the end of the year, the voucher program should be fully funded.

Attorneys have warned that landlords cannot charge residents more than their share of rent during the government shutdown.
