BECKLEY – The Sissonville girls soccer team displayed a high level of emotion but could not secure a spot in the championship match of the WVSSAC Class AA-A state tournament, falling 4-0 to Lincoln in the semifinals at the Paul Cline Memorial Sports Complex on Wednesday night.

The Cougars’ wall of forward Lillyan Toth and midfielder Eryn Ashcraft were too strong for the Indians defense, controlling the action throughout the first half.

No. 3 seed Sissonville (15-6-2) was playing in its first state tournament since winning the 2013 Class AA-A championship 1-0 over Bridgeport.
