GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) - As SNAP benefits continue making headlines and Green Bay city leaders raise awareness of food insecurity, people are finding ways to help, like cooking for the community.

That’s what the local nonprofit Rooted In is doing, using food from Lambeau Field that wasn’t eaten on game day.

Rooted In will be cooking meals at Trinity Lutheran Church, 330 S. Broadway, in Green Bay.

The food to make the meals is from the Green Bay Packers food service, Delaware North, which prepares the food at Lambeau Field.

Rooted In is able to take whatever food isn’t eaten after game days.

The food will be used to make meals for people who are struggling in our community.
