SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Big Y's annual Sack Hunger campaign is underway, raising funds to combat food insecurity across Connecticut and Massachusetts.

The campaign supports four regional food banks: the Food Bank of Western Massachusetts, Worcester County Food Bank, The Greater Boston Food Bank, and Connecticut Foodshare. For a $5 donation, customers can provide 10 meals to those in need, with donations accepted at Big Y supermarkets, Table & Vine Fine Wines and Liquors, or online until December 10th.

In addition to direct donations, Big Y is enhancing its fundraising efforts by donating a portion of proceeds from various department sales. From November 13th to November 19th, proceeds from the Produce and Floral departments will contribute to the campaign. The company will also donat
