SALISBURY, N.C. — The Salisbury Police Department has arrested a suspect in connection with a shooting that happened on Oct. 4 in the 1100 block of West Horah Street near Livingstone College.
Police arrested Messiah Swindell on Wednesday and charged him with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, inflicting serious injury. Swindell was placed in the Rowan County Detention Center with no bond.
According to police, Swindell was identified after the department received numerous tips from the community following the Oct. 4 incident. Authorities had initially asked for the public's help in identifying a person of interest in the case.
