The history of Veterans Day

Veterans Day is celebrated each year to honor the men and women who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces. To honor and thank Veterans for their service and sacrifice, many businesses offer discounts and special deals.

Originally known as Armistice Day, it was established to commemorate the bravery and sacrifice of those who served in World War I when the conflict officially ended on the 11th day of the 11th month in 1918.
