KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — A Knoxville man who was convicted earlier this year of sexually assaulting three children has been sentenced to serve 60 years in prison.
Knox County District Attorney Charme Allen's office announced on Thursday that Jessie Eugene Hurst, 71, had been sentenced to serve six decades in the Tennessee Department of Correction.
In August, Hurst was convicted of three counts of rape of a child, three counts of aggravated sexual battery, two counts of sexual battery by an authority figure, two counts of rape and one count of continuous sexual abuse of a child.
During the two-day trial, prosecutors explained to the jury that a victim reported they had been sexually assaulted by Hurst numerous times, and the abuse began in 2015 when they were just 11 years old. Through
