PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- Two lost hunters were rescued near French Creek in Marion County on Thursday morning, officials said.
The Marion County Sheriff's Office said that volunteers searched the area to find the two hunters just days after also working to locate another missing hunter in Clackamas County.
With little rest and rough conditions, officials said that crews pushed through heavy rain and 20-40 mph winds to find the missing pair and escort them out safely.
Officials said that this incident is also a reminder of the importance of using a satellite capable phone or InReach device when going to remote areas.
During this rescue, authorities said they were able to pinpoint the hunter's location using a cell phone SMS link.
