When Vu Nguyen and his wife discovered their baby daughter’s ashes were missing, it was as if Angel had been “killed a second time.”
Following the discovery of the theft Sunday at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery in Ancaster, Nguyen said they could not sleep as they awaited updates from the Hamilton police detectives on the case.
On Wednesday they got the call they had been waiting for — police had arrested a suspect and the urn holding Angel’s ashes had been found.
“It is such a relief for me, to bring her back to me,” Nguyen said, of the moment officers brought his daughter back to him late Wednesday. “Finally, we can sleep.”
