The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) is investigating an officer involved shooting that occurred Nov. 4, in the Batesburg-Leesville area of Lexington County.

The incident took place on Tuesday night after officers with the Batesburg-Leesville Police Department responded to a report of a robbery at the Enmarket gas station on West Columbia Avenue.

According to a news release, the initial officer who arrived on the scene entered the store after seeing a subject taking money from the cash register. Following this, the subject took the officer's TASER and used it against him during a physical altercation.
