BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Three Honduran nationals are in federal trouble in the Middle District of Louisiana for using the online platform WhatsApp to sexually exploit women across Baton Rouge, according to federal prosecutors.

Accused traffickers Jesus Lopez, Zaira Lopez-Olivia, and Kirsis Castellanos-Kirington face five counts of various sex trafficking and prostitution crimes between May 2023 and October 2025, according to a federal indictment filed Wednesday, October 5.

Investigators first identified locations in the 900 block of Aster Street and the 3000 block of Nicholson Drive as locations where women were being housed and forced into sex work, according to a criminal complaint.
