UAW President Shawn Fain said in a wide-ranging speech about the current status of the UAW that the future of the union "hangs in the balance" as it gestures at a potential strike at a recently organized Volkswagen plant in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

The union leader addressed a series of hot-button labor topics in a 30-minute town hall speech, livestreamed from UAW's Solidarity House on the night of Nov. 5 in Detroit.
