LINTON, N.D. (KUMV) - The Public Service Commission is holding a public hearing later this month in Emmons County over a potential battery storage project.
Emmons-Logan Energy Storage is looking to build a 140-megawatt battery energy storage system covering around 24 acres, about 20 miles northeast of Linton.
The facility would store excess power generated from a nearby wind farm in times of increased demand. It’s expected to cost about $181 million.
The hearing is scheduled for Nov. 20 at 9 a.m. at the Emmons County Courthouse in Linton.
Company officials hope to have the facility running by the end of 2026.
