CORALVILLE — On the biggest stage, teams always look to their star to rise to the occasion.
North Scott senior McKenzie Moeller did that and some in the Class 4A Iowa high school state volleyball tournament title match, recording 32 kills to secure the title over Sioux Center. Behind her efforts, the Lancers won the match in four sets (23-25, 25-22, 25-21, 25-19). Adalynn Johnson (11 kills) and Addison Allen (42 assists) also shined in the victory.
With 10 seniors on the roster, including Moeller, Johnson and Allen, North Scott came in with an added sense of urgency to get the job done in the last high school match for many of them.
"It was our last game," Moeller said. "We knew, 'Hey, leave it all out on the court. Leave with no regrets.' We did that."
