SPOKANE, Wash. — College students in Spokane are struggling to put food on the table, and the Spokane Colleges Foundation needs the community's help.
The Spokane Colleges Foundation announced Wednesday it is seeking donations to help students at Spokane Community College and Spokane Falls Community College meet basic needs as demand for food and emergency support has increased sharply.
"Right now, many of our students are not thinking about their futures – they are wondering how they are going to feed their kids tonight,” said Heather Beebe-Stevens, Executive Director of the Spokane Colleges Foundation.
These donations will help students facing financial emergencies like the loss of childcare or broken items like eyeglasses and computers.
