BOSTON —

A man Massachusetts State Police described as a "violent fugitive" was arrested in Boston Thursday after ramming multiple police vehicles as he tried to flee.

The incident happened behind an apartment building on Itasca Street in Boston's Mattapan neighborhood as Boston police and Massachusetts State Police troopers were serving arrest warrants.

The suspect's vehicle, a black Tesla with Florida plates, rammed five cruisers and ended up wedged between unmarked police vehicles. The suspect's car had visible damage to its front and sides when it was towed from the scene.

Jovan Jarrid Thomas, 37, was sought on two separate warrants. One warrant was out of Middlesex Superior Court on charges of trafficking of person for sexual servitude, conspiracy, trafficking of cocaine 36 grams
