Hamilton police have arrested a 31-year-old man accused of spray-painting a Nazi swastika on the wall of a business near downtown.
The arrest, announced Thursday, comes almost two months after police launched a probe into the hate-motivated graffiti discovered in the area of James Street North and Murray Street West. Surveillance footage from Sept. 11 captured a suspect spray-painting a Nazi swastika on a brick wall.
Police said the arrest is the result of “crucial assistance from community witnesses” that helped investigators identify the suspect.
The man has been charged with mischief to property.
