BISMARCK — After a federal judge’s ruling, some North Dakotans will receive a partial Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefit for November as early as Friday, Nov. 7.

The North Dakota Department of Health and Human Services made the announcement Thursday afternoon in accordance with federal court orders related to the 2025 government shutdown.

“We know how important these benefits are to families and individuals across North Dakota,” interim HHS Commissioner Pat Traynor said in a press release. “Our team has been working diligently to update systems, recalculate benefits and ensure households receive their adjusted benefits as quickly as possible.”
