BISMARCK, N.D. (KFYR) - The Department of Transportation updated the North Dakota Roads App, giving users more real-time data.
It gives users interactive maps of state highway conditions, from road closures to weather impacts.
The update includes automatic vehicle location on the department’s 351 snowplow trucks. Users can also see live traffic and road cameras.
“And we’re actively updating those as they’re changing. We also have set times throughout the day that we’re making sure they’re updated, so that is the one thing we provide that a lot of those other third-party providers don’t,” said Barry Kinnischtze, with the N.D. DOT.
The department urges users to use the app when they aren’t driving.
