Federal prosecutors have filed charges against a 16-year-old Dearborn youth in connection with the suspected Halloween terrorism plot targeting LGBTQ+ friendly clubs in Ferndale and an amusement park, the Detroit News reports.
The charges are currently under seal.
Robert Snell of The Detroit News, citing five unnamed sources, reports that the 16-year-old male is being held in a rural county jail in Northern Michigan.
Snell writes:
The case against the teenager, a U.S. citizen, offers a rare test of federal law by allowing a juvenile to be charged in federal court in a criminal case in secret.
Federal law permits juveniles to be charged in serious cases.
Three adults from Dearborn have also been charged in connection with the case. ABC News repo
