Chattanooga police say a recent enforcement effort aimed at reducing violent crime led to multiple arrests and weapon seizures.
Officers made five arrests and recovered four firearms, two of which were confirmed stolen, along with illegal narcotics.
In one stop, police say they found several types of drugs and a stolen handgun on a convicted felon prohibited from owning firearms. In another case, a stolen gun was recovered after a foot pursuit. Additional stops led to more drugs, weapons, and wanted suspects being taken into custody.
The Chattanooga Police Department says it will continue these proactive operations to make the city safer.
