ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) -St. Louis Public Schools could potentially face another challenge in the near future.
New data from the state shows the district is failing to meet its standards. If that trend were to continue, it could lose full accreditation.
Missouri bases its accreditation on multiple factors, including graduation rates, attendance and college preparation.
School districts must reach an average of 70% in those categories to have accreditation. SLPS averaged a score of just 66.5% this year.
The district lost full accreditation in 2007, regaining full status in 2017.
These scores also come after the district moved on from superintendent Dr. Millicent Borishade. They also faced pressure regarding the potential closure of dozens of schools and recovery from the May 16
