ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Local advocates celebrated the fifth anniversary of the Brightstar Community program, which connects victims of trafficking and exploitation with essential services, at the annual Bright Night fundraiser held at the Irondequoit Country Club.

The Bright Night fundraiser serves a dual purpose: celebrating the achievements of program graduates and raising funds to continue the vital work of the Brightstar Community. The event featured raffles from local businesses, including contributions from the Woodcliff Hotel and Spa.

"Just giving back to the community that I was in, seeing them from the start to the end, is really inspiring. It helps me stay sober, you know, so yeah," said Lexi Herrmann, a program graduate and now a mentor at Brightstar Community.
