MOORHEAD — A local brewery is debuting a new creation designed to emit feelings of holiday nostalgia.
Junkyard Brewing in Moorhead has unveiled a new Lefse Pilsner and held a release party Thursday night, Nov. 6.
The brewery partnered with Freddy’s Lefse, based in West Fargo. The beer is being served on tap and in cans.
Junkyard’s owner says the idea came to him last winter, wanting to capture the feeling of family bringing lefse to holiday meals.
What he says makes it work is the combination of flavors.
“I felt like that light, subtle flavor of lefse could go really good in a pilsner. Pilsners are a really popular beer style in Scandinavia, too, so I feel like everything was meshing up really nicely,” said Aaron Juhnke, owner of Junkyard Brewing Company.
