Iam writing to voice my support of the zoning change (Article 14) in the upcoming Town Meeting to save the land at Cape Cod Country Club. This beautiful section of Hatchville is to be destroyed and replaced by a solar farm of immense proportions—an industrial-sized complex containing 44,000 solar panels with electric storage buildings.

There are many reasons to protect this area from solar development: the loss of a vibrant habitat and wildlife corridor, property contiguous to 212 acres purchased to remain as open space, removal of thousands of mature trees and leveling of more than 100 acres of the land, devaluation of nearby homes in the adjoining neighborhoods and the loss of a historic 100-year-old golf course.
