Rob Edwards is expected to take his press conference as usual on Friday afternoon, with the Middlesbrough boss set to address his future at the club, as things stand.

Edwards has been extensively linked with the vacant post at his former club Wolves and has, on two occasions this week, failed to completely shut down the speculation. However, the Premier League side made an official approach to Boro on Thursday to speak to the head coach.

That development meant there were doubts Edwards would even host his usual pre-match press conference ahead of Saturday’s Championship clash with Birmingham City, despite the fact Boro rejected Wolves’ request.
