ACTON, Mass. —
Transit authorities are investigating after a train slammed into a car stuck on the tracks in Acton, Massachusetts, on Thursday night.
The collision occurred in the area of 117 Central St. around 5:30 p.m.
The vehicle was pushed about 300 feet down the tracks before it and the train came to a stop.
According to the Acton Fire Department, there were 44 people on the train at the time of the collision and there are no injuries.
The driver was not in the vehicle at the time of the impact.
Fire officials say they're working to contain a fuel spill from the vehicle that was hit. The Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection was notified.
MBTA Transit Police say the driver of the vehicle will be cited.
