SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) -- Bill Rhyne will be sworn in as the new sheriff of Spartanburg County Friday morning at the Spartanburg County Courthouse.
Rhyne ran unopposed in Tuesday's election, securing his position as sheriff. He has deep roots in Spartanburg County, having grown up there and started his law enforcement career with the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office.
Rhyne eventually retired from the South Carolina Highway Patrol after a distinguished career.
His experience in law enforcement spans several decades, providing him with a wealth of knowledge and expertise as he steps into his new role as sheriff.
