AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - The cause of a Thursday afternoon fire in Randall County is under investigation.

The structure fire shutdown parts of FM-1541 near the Claude highway as first responders worked to put out the flames.

The road has now been reopened this morning.

Multiple agencies including Randall County, Lake Tanglewood, Timbercreek, Palisades and Amarillo Fire Department responded to the fire.

NewsChannel 10 crews on scene saw a large smoke plume that was beginning to impact the area. The smell of smoke was also very much present.

Atmos and Xcel Energy crews were also on scene.

The cause of the fire is unknown and remains under investigation.
