A man suffered a double jaw fracture after violence flared in a Larkhall street during the early hours. ‌

Hamilton Sheriff Court heard that John Gilmour and two pals punched, kicked and stamped on their victim as he lay on the ground. ‌

Gilmour, 21, admitted that, while acting with others, he assaulted the man to his severe injury in Hamilton Road on November 3 last year. ‌

Lewis Devoy, prosecuting, said the victim and two friends had been socialising at a house and left about 1am.

They encountered Gilmour and two associates, one of whom urinated against a fence.

Trouble began when one of the victim’s friends made a comment about that behaviour. ‌

It was alleged that Gilmour said: “Do you know who I am? Do you know my family? If you don’t, you will soon.”
