Local artist Anastasia King has exhibited their work in Ohio, Indiana, New Mexico, California, and New York.
The abstract sculptor is having their first solo gallery show here in Toledo, showcasing themes of gender expression and autonomy at the Portal at Toledo School for the Arts, 1401 Adams St.
King’s exhibition, titled Skin Crawl, strives to highlight the experience of having a physical body and exploring topics of queer identity in today’s climate.
“I’m a queer artist, and that’s primarily what I focus on,” King said. “I wanted to convey a very colorful and fun, whimsical exhibition.
