Spirit Lake tribal officials have confirmed that Danica White has been found dead. Her body was recovered from the water just before 3 p.m. Wednesday. Danica had been reported missing on November 1st after calling 911 and saying she needed help. The call dropped, but police traced it to the Fort Totten area and launched a large-scale search effort. That search covered nearly 15,000 acres and involved 22 federal, state, and tribal agencies before her body was found. Officials have not yet released details surrounding her disappearance or her official cause of death, but tribal leaders say no foul play is suspected at this time.
