Assam’s cricket sensation Uma Chetry received a warm welcome as she returned home today after scripting history by becoming the first cricketer from the state to win a Cricket World Cup.

She arrived at the Lok Priya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati last night. She was felicitated by the members of the Assam Cricket Association (ACA).

Speaking to media, the cricket star said, “It’s a great feeling to be back home as a World Cup winner. The feeling is yet to completely sink in. I thank everyone for their love and support. It has been a memorable journey so far.’
