A Paisley nursery teacher and drag queen has been charged with sending inappropriate messages to children after kids reported him to a local child safety organisation.

The man, who can't be named for legal reasons, was arrested after police were called to the Paisley area on Thursday, October 30.

The 32-year-old works at a nursery in town and is also known to perform as a drag queen, reports the Daily Record .

It is understood that the charges were not related to children under the teacher's care.

He has been fired from his teaching role.

Jo Drennan, 37, runs the Fighting Justice Against Predators organisation, which was contacted by local kids about the drag queen.
