The iconic seaside resort of Blackpool has been dubbed 'Crackpool' after figures show that it is the most drug-blighted town in England and Wales. ‌

Between 2022 and 2024, the popular resort suffered 128 drug-related deaths, according to figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS). This is the highest in England and Wales. ‌

In total, figures show 5,565 deaths registered in England and Wales last year were related to drug poisoning. Once a jewel in Lancashire's coastline , now it has 35 people dying from drug-related deaths last year alone. ‌
