The Barrington High School boys’ soccer team will be playing for the Division 1 Rhode Island state championship this weekend, after a thrilling, 1-0 victory over Moses Brown Wednesday night.
In a tense game played on a raw, windy night at Rhode Island College, the two top remaining seeds in the playoffs battled to a scoreless draw for most of the contest. Though the Eagles controlled play for a majority of the game, they could not break through for a decisive scoring chance until the final minutes.
The key was a miscue from Moses Brown in their defensive end. Barrington’s Brady Andrew pressured the ball off a Quaker goal kick and forced a turnover just outside the penalty box, to the left of the goal. He gathered the ball, dribbled toward the goal, drew the Moses Brown goalkeeper toward
