SCOTTSDALE, AZ (AZFamily) — Nearly two decades later, a man wanted for child sex crimes in Scottsdale has been found after fleeing the country multiple times, attempting to evade local, federal and international law enforcement.
Scottsdale police announced that fugitive Michael Wiseman was taken into custody in France for a 2008 case, where he was wanted for multiple counts of sexual exploitation of a minor. Wiseman has been on Scottsdale’s Most Wanted list.
He was initially arrested in Feb. 2008 for alleged child sex crimes. Nine months later, while under court monitoring, Wiseman reportedly cut off his ankle bracelet and fled the U.S.
The FBI Phoenix field office obtained a warrant for Wiseman’s arrest. In 2009, he was arrested in Spain and extradited to the U.S. He was sentenced i
